The Question That Matters: What Happened to This Watch?

Condition grade is just a number. What actually matters is the story. A reputable dealer can tell you: when it was last serviced and by whom, whether all parts are original, whether the dial has been repainted or replaced, and whether the movement matches the reference number. These aren't optional questions — they're the difference between a smart acquisition and an expensive mistake.

The Market Reality

Pre-owned is not a compromise — it is often the smarter path. New Rolex steel sports references like the Submariner and GMT-Master II are frequently unavailable at retail without a waitlist, and they trade above their retail prices on the secondary market.
